Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Introduction

At LiGo, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services. We prioritize data minimization and only collect information that is necessary to provide our services to you.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you provide to us, including but not limited to:

  • Name and email address (for account creation and communication)
  • LinkedIn profile URL (if provided by you, we only access publicly available data from your profile)
  • For paid users, basic billing information necessary for processing payments (we do not store complete credit card details)
  • Communication preferences

We do not collect or store sensitive personal information such as government IDs, health information, or financial account details. Our goal is to minimize the personal data we collect while still providing you with our services.

2.2 Usage Information

Through our limited use of Google Analytics, the following anonymous usage information may be collected:

  • Browser type
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited
  • Time and date of visits

This information is collected by Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, meaning IP addresses are not stored or tracked. We only use this aggregated, anonymous data to understand basic page views and improve our website. We do not combine this data with personal information, and it cannot be used to personally identify you.

Inside the LiGo app we also use PostHog to understand how features are used and to fix problems. PostHog records pages viewed, actions taken and session replays, with everything you type masked. This data is linked to your account so we can support you. It is not used for advertising.

2.3 Post Analytics Saved by the LigoSocial Browser Extension

When you open your own LinkedIn post analytics page or your Threads Insights page, the LigoSocial browser extension saves a copy of the numbers shown on your screen (such as views, reactions and audience breakdown) to your LigoSocial account, so you can track them over time. This is on by default. The first time, the extension shows a short notice with a "Don't save" option, and if you choose it, nothing more is saved.

  • Only pages you open yourself are captured. The extension does not browse or crawl in the background.
  • The saved numbers belong to your account and are used to show you your own analytics.
  • You can turn this off or back on at any time in Settings. Once it is off, nothing more is saved.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain our services
  • Improve user experience and service performance
  • Send you service-related communications
  • Send you marketing and promotional communications (only with your explicit consent)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our platform
  • Prevent fraud and secure our services

We process your information only for the purposes described above, and only when we have a valid legal basis to do so, such as your consent, fulfilling our contractual obligations to you, or for our legitimate interests.

We may publish aggregated, anonymised statistics derived from LinkedIn activity data (for example, average engagement by post format across many accounts). These statistics never identify any individual, profile or post.

Important Note: We do not use your personal information for advertising purposes or sell your data to third parties for marketing. We do not engage in user retargeting or behavioral advertising. Our primary focus is providing functionality and improving user experience.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period, we consider:

  • The amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data
  • The purposes for which we process your personal data
  • Applicable legal requirements

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it longer. Certain non-personal analytics data may be retained in an anonymized form. See our Data Deletion page for how to delete your account.

We have configured our Google Analytics implementation to use IP anonymization and have disabled data sharing for advertising purposes. We do not use Google Analytics for user profiling or advertising.

  • Kit (ConvertKit) (United States): adds AppSumo customers to our email list at sign-up.
  • Services you connect yourself (LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord, ClickUp): receive only what you ask LiGo to publish or send there.

When we use third-party services, we ensure they provide adequate data protection safeguards.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, accidental loss, or destruction. While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our security measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (using HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
  • Secure authentication through Auth0's industry-standard protocols
  • Regular security assessments
  • Access controls and authentication requirements
  • Regular monitoring for potential vulnerabilities
  • Use of PCI-DSS compliant payment processors
