Grok Bot LinkedIn integration

Connect LinkedIn to Grok Bot with one message in the chat

Junaid KhalidBy Junaid Khalid, founder of LigoSocial · Updated

To connect LinkedIn to Grok Bot, send your Bot one message: "Add this MCP server: https://ligosocial.com/mcp". Grok Bot adds LigoSocial as a connector and shows an Authorize card. Click it, sign in to LigoSocial, and the tools are live right away, with no config file or terminal. Grok Bot can then read your LinkedIn profile and past posts, draft in your voice, and publish or schedule through LinkedIn's official API once you confirm.

  • 16 MCP tools
  • 1 message to add it
  • OAuth 2.0 sign-in with PKCE
  • LinkedIn's official API

We shipped one feature this week. We also deleted three.

The three nobody used were costing us a day of support every week.

Here is how we decided what to cut...

Scheduled through LigoSocial

What the connector does

What can Grok Bot do on LinkedIn with LigoSocial?

Grok Bot can read your own LinkedIn profile and posts, write in your voice, and publish, schedule or save drafts. LigoSocial runs a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard Grok Bot uses for custom connectors) with 16 tools, and Grok Bot calls them whenever a request needs one.

Draft in your voice

Grok Bot pulls your profile, writing style and personal context from LigoSocial before it writes, so drafts sound like your best posts instead of generic AI.

Publish or schedule

Publish a post now or schedule it for later. Grok Bot only publishes when you explicitly confirm, and posts go out through LinkedIn's official API.

Read your performance

Ask what worked last month. Grok Bot can fetch your recent LinkedIn posts with engagement and search everything you have published.

Manage drafts and the calendar

Save ideas as drafts, search your LigoSocial post library, and check what is already on your content calendar before adding more.

Attach images, video and PDFs

Grok Bot can give you a one-time upload link, or pick media you already have in your LigoSocial Media Library, and attach it to a post.

Secure sign-in

You approve access from the Authorize card on a LigoSocial sign-in screen (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE). Grok Bot never sees your LinkedIn password, and you can remove the connector at any time.

Use cases

How do people use Grok Bot with LinkedIn?

Mostly to turn ideas they already worked through with Grok Bot into posts, and to learn from their own numbers. Paste any of these prompts once the connector is on.

Founders

Turn a chat into a post

You just worked through a hiring or pricing decision with Grok Bot. Ask it to write the post while the context is still in the chat, instead of copying fragments into another tool.

Try asking

“Turn the decision we just worked through into a LinkedIn post in my voice. Save it as a draft.”

Grok Bot drafts from the conversation, matches your style, and saves the post to your LigoSocial drafts.

Consultants

Learn from your own best posts

Grok Bot reads your recent posts and their engagement, then tells you which hooks, formats and topics actually earned comments.

Try asking

“Look at my last 20 LinkedIn posts. Which three got the most comments, and what do they have in common?”

An analysis grounded in your real numbers, followed by three new post ideas that follow the same pattern.

Busy weeks

Plan and schedule a week in one chat

Check your content calendar, fill the gaps, and schedule each post without leaving Grok Bot.

Try asking

“What do I have scheduled next week? Fill Tuesday and Thursday with posts about our product launch.”

Grok Bot reads your calendar, drafts the two missing posts, and schedules them once you approve.

Visual posts

Post with an image or a PDF carousel

Upload a screenshot or a PDF through the one-time link Grok Bot gives you, or reuse something from your Media Library.

Try asking

“I want to attach a chart to this post. Give me an upload link, then publish it with the chart.”

The media is attached through LigoSocial and the post goes out with it.

MCP tools

Which tools does the LigoSocial LinkedIn MCP server include?

It includes 16 tools in four groups: profile and posts, publishing and scheduling, writing and drafts, and media. Grok Bot picks the right one from your request, so you never have to type these names.

LinkedIn profile and posts

  • ligo_get_linkedin_profileYour LinkedIn profile details: headline, summary and experience.
  • ligo_get_linkedin_postsYour recent LinkedIn posts with engagement metrics.
  • ligo_search_linkedin_postsSearch the posts you have published on LinkedIn by keyword.
  • ligo_get_linkedin_insights_dataYour profile and post history with engagement numbers, so Claude can answer questions about your LinkedIn data.
  • ligo_set_linkedin_urlRe-sync the LinkedIn profile linked to your account. Any other profile is refused.

  • ligo_publish_linkedin_postPublish a post to LinkedIn now, only after you confirm.
  • ligo_schedule_linkedin_postSchedule a post for a future date and time.
  • ligo_get_content_calendarYour scheduled posts, soonest first.

Writing and drafts

  • ligo_generate_linkedin_postYour writing style and personal context, so Claude drafts in your voice.
  • ligo_save_generated_postKeep the variants you like in LigoSocial, only when you ask.
  • ligo_create_draftSave a post or idea to your drafts or archive.
  • ligo_get_postsYour drafts, scheduled, published, liked or archived posts, by status or label.

Media

  • ligo_request_image_uploadA one-time upload page for images, video or PDFs.

Official or third-party

Is there an official LinkedIn connector for Grok Bot?

No. Neither xAI nor LinkedIn publishes a LinkedIn connector for Grok Bot, so every option is third-party. Grok lets you bring your own MCP server, and what matters is how that server reaches LinkedIn: through LinkedIn's official API with OAuth, like LigoSocial, or through a logged-in browser session, which LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits.

FAQ

Grok Bot LinkedIn integration FAQ

Does LigoSocial work with Grok Bot?

Yes. Tell Grok Bot "Add this MCP server: https://ligosocial.com/mcp", click the Authorize card it shows, and sign in. The LigoSocial tools are available in that chat right away.

How do I add an MCP server to Grok Bot?

Send your Bot a message like "Add this MCP server: <url>". Grok Bot adds it as a connector and shows an Authorize card for servers that need a sign-in. You can also add one at grok.com/connectors: New Connector, then Custom, then paste the URL.

Do I need a config file or a terminal?

No. Grok Bot adds the connector from the chat. You only paste one message and sign in to LigoSocial.

Is there a LinkedIn connector for Grok Bot?

LinkedIn does not publish one. LigoSocial's hosted LinkedIn MCP server at https://ligosocial.com/mcp works as a custom Grok Bot connector and gives it 16 LinkedIn and drafting tools.

Does LinkedIn have an official MCP server?

No. LinkedIn does not publish its own MCP server. Every LinkedIn MCP server, including LigoSocial's, is third-party. LigoSocial's posts through LinkedIn's official API instead of scraping.

Will Grok Bot post without asking me?

No. The publish tool is built to be used only when you explicitly confirm you want to post now. Drafting, saving and scheduling are separate steps you control in the chat.

Is it the same connector as Claude?

Yes. It is the same remote MCP server at https://ligosocial.com/mcp, with the same tools and the same LigoSocial sign-in. Posts you create from Grok Bot or Claude land in the same LigoSocial library and calendar.

Does it work with LinkedIn company pages?

Not yet. The connector publishes to your personal LinkedIn profile.

Is it safe for my LinkedIn account?

Yes. You sign in through OAuth on a LigoSocial screen, Grok Bot never sees your LinkedIn password, and posts go out through LinkedIn's official API rather than scraping or browser automation. You can remove the connector at any time.

Can Grok Bot send LinkedIn messages or connection requests with LigoSocial?

No. The LigoSocial connector is built for content: reading your own profile and posts, drafting in your voice, and publishing or scheduling posts. It does not send messages or connection requests.

Can't Grok Bot just use LinkedIn in its own browser?

It can open LinkedIn in its cloud browser, but driving the site with a bot is the kind of automation LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits, and people on r/GrokBot report flagged accounts. A connector on LinkedIn's official API avoids that, and it is faster than clicking through the site.

Does it work in Grok on the web as well?

Yes. On grok.com, open Connectors, click New Connector, choose Custom, paste https://ligosocial.com/mcp and sign in to LigoSocial.

Is LigoSocial the same as LiGo?

Yes. LiGo is the earlier name of LigoSocial. It is the same account and the same MCP server.
