How to Connect LigoSocial with Claude (and Other AI Tools) via Connector

6 min readUpdated Oct 8, 2026

The LigoSocial connector brings your LinkedIn account into Claude and other AI assistants that support custom MCP connectors, such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. Once it is connected, you can ask the assistant to read your profile and posts, draft posts in your voice, save drafts, and publish or schedule posts to LinkedIn, all from the chat. Setup happens in the browser: there is nothing to install and no terminal.

The connector works with your personal LinkedIn profile. Company pages are not supported through the connector.

Before you start

You need:

  • A LigoSocial account. If you do not have one yet, you can create it during setup.
  • A Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity account that allows custom connectors.
  • Your LinkedIn account connected to LigoSocial. If it is not connected yet, setup walks you through it.

Connect LigoSocial to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors (or go straight to https://claude.ai/customize/connectors).
  2. Click "+" and choose "Add custom connector". On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add it for the organization first.
  3. Fill in the dialog:
    • Name: LigoSocial
    • Remote MCP server URL: https://ligosocial.com/mcp
    • Leave the advanced OAuth fields empty.
  4. Click Connect. A LigoSocial page opens:
    • If you are already signed in to the LigoSocial web app in that browser, this step is skipped and you go straight on.
    • Otherwise you see Sign in to LigoSocial. Enter the email you use for LigoSocial and click Send verification code.
    • On the Check your email screen, enter the 6-digit code from your inbox and click Verify & connect. The code expires after 10 minutes.
  5. LigoSocial then opens Settings on the Integrations tab with a blue banner:
    • If your LinkedIn is not connected yet, the banner says One more step: connect your LinkedIn. In the Connect Accounts card below it, click Connect next to LinkedIn and approve access on LinkedIn.
    • When LinkedIn is connected, the banner changes to LinkedIn connected. Ready to return to Claude.
  6. Click Continue to Claude. You are back in Claude and the connector is ready.

To check it works, start a new chat and ask: "Show me my recent LinkedIn posts."

LigoSocial connects to LinkedIn through LinkedIn's official API, and the connector signs in with OAuth 2.0 (with PKCE). Claude never sees your LinkedIn password.

Using ChatGPT or Perplexity

The connector uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), so any assistant that supports custom remote MCP connectors can use the same server URL: https://ligosocial.com/mcp.

  • Perplexity: open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom remote connector with the URL above.
  • ChatGPT: add a custom connector in ChatGPT's connector settings with the same URL. If you prefer a ready-made GPT, see How to connect LiGo with ChatGPT (Custom GPT).

In every case you sign in on the same LigoSocial page described in step 4.

What you can ask

The connector gives the assistant a set of LigoSocial tools. You do not need to name them; just ask in plain language.

Your LinkedIn data

  • Read your LinkedIn profile.
  • Fetch your recent LinkedIn posts with their likes, comments and shares (up to 50 at a time).
  • Search your LinkedIn posts for a topic or phrase.
  • Ask questions about your performance, such as "Which of my last 20 posts got the most comments, and why?"
  • Set your LinkedIn profile URL, if the assistant says it is missing.

Writing

  • Draft posts in your voice. The assistant loads your profile, writing style and personal context from LigoSocial and writes three variants.
  • Save the variants you like back to LigoSocial.
  • Create drafts that appear in your Publishing Hub.
  • Look through and search the posts you already have in LigoSocial.

Publishing

  • Publish a post to LinkedIn now. The assistant is instructed to publish only after you clearly confirm.
  • Schedule a post for a future date and time.
  • Check your content calendar to see what is already scheduled.

Media

  • Attach images, a video or a PDF. Ask for an upload link: the assistant gives you a one-time upload page (it expires after 30 minutes) where you add the file from your computer. You can also attach a file you already have in your LigoSocial Media Library.

Scheduling through the connector is available on plans that include post scheduling; see Billing in the app.

Example prompts

  • "Get my last 10 LinkedIn posts and tell me which topics did best."
  • "Turn these meeting notes into a LinkedIn post in my voice: [paste notes]."
  • "Save the second variant as a draft in LigoSocial."
  • "What do I have scheduled next week?"
  • "Give me an upload link for an image, then schedule this post with it for Tuesday at 9 AM London time."

What it does not do

  • It does not post without your go-ahead. You decide what gets published and when.
  • It does not write comments. For comments on LinkedIn, use the LigoAI Chrome extension.
  • It does not read other people's profiles or change your own profile.
  • It does not post to LinkedIn company pages.
  • It does not refresh your LinkedIn data on demand from the chat. The assistant works with the profile and post data LigoSocial already has for you.

Troubleshooting

The assistant cannot read my LinkedIn data

  1. Open https://app.ligosocial.com/settings#integrations and check the LinkedIn row in Connect Accounts. It should say Connected as: with your name. If it says LinkedIn Connection Expired or shows Refresh Connection, reconnect it.
  2. If the assistant asks for your LinkedIn profile URL, give the full link, for example https://www.linkedin.com/in/your-name/.
  3. Remove the connector in Claude (Customize > Connectors), add it again and sign in.

Publishing fails

  • Reconnect LinkedIn in Settings > Integrations and try again.
  • Check that the post is not longer than LinkedIn's 3,000 character limit.

Scheduling fails

  • The date and time must be in the future. Say the time zone you mean, for example "9 AM New York time".
  • Check that your plan includes scheduling (see Billing in the app). Publishing right away still works.

Drafts do not sound like me

  • Ask the assistant to "draft this in my voice using LigoSocial", so it loads your writing style first.
  • Give it feedback in the chat ("shorter", "less formal") and ask for another round.

Remove the connector

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors in Claude (https://claude.ai/customize/connectors).
  2. Find LigoSocial and remove or disconnect it.

To use it again later, repeat the setup steps. In ChatGPT or Perplexity, remove it from the same settings page where you added it.

FAQ

Do I need Claude Desktop or a terminal? No. Everything happens in your browser.

Does it work with LinkedIn company pages? Not yet. The connector publishes to your personal LinkedIn profile.

I connected it under the name "LiGo". Do I need to change anything? No. LiGo is the earlier name of LigoSocial. It is the same account and the same server URL.

Can it attach images or video? Yes. Ask the assistant for an upload link or point it to a file in your Media Library. See Posting images, carousels, PDFs and video for how media works on LinkedIn posts.
