Is LiGo safe for my LinkedIn account?
Short answer: yes. LigoSocial is designed to work the way LinkedIn expects partner tools to work. It publishes through LinkedIn's official API, it never asks for your LinkedIn password, and you decide what goes out. This article explains what that means in practice and how to check it yourself.
LigoSocial is an assistant, not a bot
LigoSocial helps you write and schedule. It does not run hidden actions on your account, and it does not log in to LinkedIn pretending to be you. What LinkedIn sees is normal activity from you.
- Publishing uses LinkedIn's official API. When you publish or schedule a post, LigoSocial sends it through the API LinkedIn provides to approved apps. There is no scraping and no automated clicking to post.
- You approve what gets posted. Ideas, drafts and Post Lab agents give you suggestions. Posts only go to LinkedIn when you publish them or schedule them yourself.
- The Chrome extension suggests; you post. The LigoSocial Chrome extension writes comment and reply suggestions, and you copy them, edit if you like, and post them yourself. It does not like, connect, message or comment on its own.
- No password, no cookies. You connect LinkedIn with LinkedIn's own sign-in screen (OAuth). LigoSocial never sees your password, and the extension does not collect your browser cookies or session.
Check it yourself
Because LigoSocial connects through LinkedIn's official sign-in, LinkedIn lists it on your account as a connected app:
- On LinkedIn, open Settings & Privacy.
- Go to Data privacy.
- Under Other applications, open Permitted services.
- LigoSocial appears there as a connected app (it may be listed as LiGo).
You can remove access there at any time. You can also disconnect from inside LigoSocial: click Settings & Support at the bottom of the sidebar, then Settings > Integrations, and click Disconnect next to LinkedIn.
The same check works for any LinkedIn tool. If a tool is not listed there but still posts or acts for you, it is probably not using LinkedIn's approved API.
Scheduled posts go out as normal posts
Some tools hand scheduled posts to LinkedIn's own scheduler. LigoSocial does not. When the scheduled time comes, LigoSocial publishes the post at that moment through the standard publishing API, just as if you had clicked post yourself.
Will LinkedIn notice AI-assisted writing?
LigoSocial learns your voice from your own posts, content themes and LigoBrain memories, and you review every post before it goes out. There is no stream of bulk, identical, obviously automated posts for LinkedIn to react to.
If you have posted on LinkedIn regularly, LigoSocial has plenty to learn from straight away. If your profile is new or quiet, add example posts to your themes and answer a few LigoBrain questions so it can pick up your style.
The one thing to watch: other automation tools
LigoSocial keeps its own side compliant. The risk comes from running it alongside tools that break LinkedIn's rules, such as tools that auto-connect, auto-message, auto-like or scrape at scale. Those carry their own risk whatever else you use. Avoid them and you are on safe ground.
