Is LiGo safe for my LinkedIn account?

Short answer: yes. LiGo is built to keep your LinkedIn account safe, and across more than 7,000 users we have never had a single account flagged, restricted, shadow-banned, or banned for using LiGo. This article explains exactly why, and shows you how to verify it for yourself.

The short version

LiGo is an assistant, not a bot. It helps you write and it publishes through LinkedIn's own official tools, but you stay in control of what actually goes out. It does not perform hidden, bot-like actions on your behalf, and it does not log into LinkedIn by pretending to be you.

Because of that, LinkedIn sees normal, human activity on your account. That is the core reason accounts stay safe.

Why LiGo is compliant with LinkedIn

There are a few specific things that keep LiGo on the right side of LinkedIn's terms of service.

• Official LinkedIn API for publishing and scheduling. When you publish or schedule a post, LiGo uses LinkedIn's official API, the same approved channel LinkedIn provides to partner applications. It is not scraping, and it is not automating clicks in the background.
• You are always in the loop. LiGo suggests. You review, edit, and approve. Nothing is posted without you. Because it "suggests" rather than "performs actions on your behalf," it behaves like an assistant, not an automation bot.
• The Chrome extension does not auto-post comments. The extension generates comment and reply suggestions for you, but it does not post them automatically. You copy, edit if you like, and post yourself. There is no automated liking, connecting, or commenting happening behind the scenes.
• We never see or store your LinkedIn password. Connecting your account uses secure OAuth. LiGo never sees your password, and it does not collect or store your browser cookies or session tokens for automation.

As the founder put it directly to a customer who asked about this:

"LiGo complies, since it's an 'assistant', it suggests, it doesn't perform any bot like activities on behalf of the user. So no one has ever gotten shadow-banned or similar by using LiGo."

Verify it yourself in 30 seconds

You do not have to take our word for it. Because LiGo connects through LinkedIn's official API, LinkedIn itself will list it as a permitted service on your account:

1. Go to LinkedIn and open Settings & Privacy.
2. Open Data privacy.
3. Select Permitted services (also shown as Other applications).
4. You will see LiGo listed there as an application connected through LinkedIn's official API.

This is the easiest way to confirm that any tool you use for LinkedIn, not just LiGo, is using LinkedIn's approved API rather than something unauthorized.

Scheduling and your reach

Some LinkedIn tools schedule posts through LinkedIn's native scheduling feature, which can reduce how far a post reaches. LiGo deliberately avoids that path.

Instead, when a scheduled time arrives, LiGo publishes your post in real time through the standard publishing API, the same as if you had posted it live yourself. That helps keep your reach as high as possible, because LinkedIn sees a normal, real-time post rather than a natively scheduled one.

Will LinkedIn notice the content is AI-assisted?

In practice, no. LiGo learns your voice, and the posts it drafts are 90 to 95 percent authentic to how you already write. If you have been posting on LinkedIn for a few weeks or months, LiGo works well straight away. If your profile is newer or has been inactive, it can take a few days for LiGo to learn your style, after which it saves you a large amount of time.

Because the output sounds like you and you approve every post, there is no bulk, generic, "obviously automated" footprint for LinkedIn to react to.

One thing to keep in mind

LiGo keeps its own side compliant. The one situation to be careful about is stacking LiGo alongside other LinkedIn automation tools that are not compliant with LinkedIn's terms, for example tools that auto-connect, auto-message, or scrape at scale. Those tools carry their own risk regardless of LiGo. If you avoid non-compliant automation, you are in safe hands.
