Posting images, carousels, PDFs, and video with LiGo
What you can post
LiGo posts are not limited to text. You can attach media to a post, with one important rule: each post can include only one media type at a time. You can post images, or a video, or a PDF, but you cannot mix them in the same post.
- Images: one or several. JPG, PNG, or GIF, up to 5 MB each.
- Video: a single video, MP4 or MOV, up to 100 MB.
- PDF (document post): a single PDF, up to 100 MB.
GIFs are supported as uploaded .gif files (counted as an image, 5 MB limit). There is no built-in GIF search.
How to attach media
- Open a post in the composer. You can add media to Draft, Liked, Scheduled, and Failed posts. Published and Archived posts cannot take new media.
- Click Attach in the action bar to open the upload window.
- Drag and drop your file, or browse to it. You can also pick something you already uploaded from your Media Library.
- Publish now or schedule as usual.
Carousels
Carousel generation turns your content into a multi-slide document (PDF) carousel, optionally with AI-generated visuals.
We are rolling this out, so it may already be available on your account. Open the composer at ligosocial.com/publish-post and look for a Generate Carousel option on your posts. If it is there, you are all set.
If you do not see it yet, carousel generation is still in early access for your account. Only paid plans are eligible. Message our support from inside the app to request access, and we will enable it for you.
Carousels use generation credits, and image-based carousels cost more credits than text-only ones.
Posting media through ChatGPT or the MCP connector
Media posting is built for the LiGo web app. Publishing images or video through the ChatGPT or MCP connector path is not officially supported, so use the web app for reliable media posts. See "How to connect LiGo with ChatGPT (Custom GPT)" for what that integration does and does not do.
Troubleshooting
- Upload rejected: check the file type and size limits above. Images are 5 MB each, video and PDF are 100 MB.
- Cannot add media to a post that is already live: attach media before publishing. Published posts cannot be edited with new media.
- Trying to mix an image with a video or PDF: not supported. Use one media type per post.
