Understanding LiGo's Delegate Access Feature

What is Share Account Access?

Share Account Access lets you invite collaborators to work within your LiGo workspace without sharing your login credentials. You can assign different permission levels based on their role, from fully managing the account to simply viewing what's happening.

This feature is called Share Account Access in the app (it was previously known as Delegate Access). You will find it under Settings then Share Account Access, on a card titled Manage Account Access. Share Account Access is available on the Growth plan and above.

Available Roles and Permissions

Role View Content & Analytics Create & Publish Posts Edit Account Settings Manage Billing Invite Other Delegates
Admin ✅ Yes ✅ Yes ✅ Yes ✅ Yes ✅ Yes
Editor ✅ Yes ✅ Yes ✅ Yes ❌ No ❌ No
Viewer ✅ Yes ❌ No ❌ No ❌ No ❌ No

In the app, the roles are shown as Admin (Full access), Editor (Can manage content), and Viewer (View-only access).

Important Notes:

  • Only the Account Owner can connect their LinkedIn profile to their LiGo account.
  • No delegate can currently access your CRM data or generate comments using the LiGo chrome extension on your behalf.

Note: Delegates cannot use the Profile Switcher or any other method to link LinkedIn accounts to accounts they have been given access to. The LinkedIn connection must be done by logging into the actual account owner's LiGo account. This restriction exists for security and authentication purposes, and there is no workaround for this limitation.

Key Use Cases

1. For Founders & Solopreneurs Working with Ghostwriters

Give your ghostwriter or virtual assistant access to create and schedule content through LiGo without sharing your LinkedIn credentials. They create the posts, while you maintain control of your account.

2. For Organizations Running Employee-Generated Content Programs

Have your social media team manage LinkedIn content for multiple executives from a single dashboard. Each executive connects their LinkedIn once, then your content team handles the rest.

3. For Agencies Managing Multiple Client Accounts

Manage all your clients' LinkedIn strategies through your own LiGo dashboard after clients grant you access. Each client maintains ownership of their account while you drive their content strategy.

Alternatively, you can create a separate LiGo account for each client and give yourself access to those accounts. This allows you to maintain separate billing, content strategy, and themes for each client.

How to Set Up Share Account Access (Account Owner)

  1. Navigate to Settings then Share Account Access and click Invite Delegate
  2. Enter the email address of your collaborator
  3. Assign them a role: Admin, Editor, or Viewer
  4. They'll receive an email invitation with setup instructions

Once completed, your delegate can log into their own LiGo dashboard and take action based on the access level you've granted.

Important: LinkedIn connection permissions expire after 60 days (sometimes sooner; this is by LinkedIn and is a standard security procedure to ensure refreshing of your authentication information periodically). Whenever the connection expires, or is about to expire - we send the email to the account owner - so that they can refresh their LinkedIn connection to LiGo.

Account owners need to reconnect their LinkedIn account every two months to maintain uninterrupted publishing. Remember, only the account owner can perform this reconnection, delegates cannot do this on behalf of the owner.

If You Were Invited

If someone shared their LiGo account with you, you access it using your OWN LiGo login. You never use the account owner's credentials. Here is how to accept and get in:

  1. Open the invitation email and click the invite link.
  2. Sign in using the same email address the invitation was sent to. If you do not have a LiGo account yet, choose Sign Up and create one with that same email address.
  3. Once you are signed in, the invitation is accepted automatically and you are taken to your dashboard.
  4. To work inside the shared account, open the Switch Account menu at the bottom-left of the sidebar (under your profile) and select the account you were given access to. Each shared account shows your permission level next to it, for example Editor Access.

While you are working inside a shared account, a DELEGATE badge appears next to the account name so you always know which account you are acting in. You can switch back to your own account at any time from the same Switch Account menu.

Reconnecting Access (for Agencies)

LinkedIn connections expire periodically (see the 60-day note above). When a client's LinkedIn connection expires, their account stops publishing until it is reconnected. Only the account owner (your client) can reconnect their own LinkedIn. A delegate or agency cannot reconnect on the owner's behalf.

To restore a client whose access has expired:

  • Ask the client to log in to their own LiGo account at ligosocial.com, go to Settings then Integrations, and click Connect next to LinkedIn to re-authorize.
  • If you manage clients from the agency dashboard, you can nudge a client who needs to reconnect using the Remind button next to that client (hovering over it shows "Send LinkedIn reconnect reminder"). This notifies the client to reconnect their LinkedIn. It does not reconnect the account for them.
